Just like Dallas, but, you know, better. And smarter. And friendlier. And way cooler.

The Star-T gave it a glowing review, but I think the best review is that whenever I try to go there at lunch, it's impossible to find a parking place! So no, I haven't been there, but I've tried on three occasions.
I went with some friends on a Saturday after the Rahr "Tour." It was excellent! Everyone was really pleased with the quality of their seafood. I don't really like catfish, and generally don't eat invertebrates, so I had a hamburger. It was so-so.
My review is here: The Flying Fish
it's good, but i would not glow. standard fried seafood, very good big salads, good grilled seafood. a dining companion said the hushpuppies were top-notch.
you wait in line and place your order. they give you a buzzer and you wait for it to buzz.
bus service's biggest fault is that they are too attentive. seemed constantly hovering all three times i've been there. otherwise very good.
the interior is fun but not too kitschy. unpretentious.
i will definitely go back, but no rush.
ps hi steve, former colleague!
It's great to see all this activity on our little blog! I haven't been to the Flying Fish in FTW, but I have been to the Dallas location several times. I will second the fact that the hush puppies are up there (although the old hush puppies at Zeke's Fish and Chips are still the gold standard). I always get the shrimp po' boy and it's one of the better ones I've had outside of a gulf city. So, two-thumbs most of the way up for me.
Hola! Is that Matt H.?
you know it.
